Pre load and damping
Pre load and damping
Can anyone explain (in language a novice would understand - me) how you know if your preload and damping settings are suited to your riding style? My bikes as standard on both settings.

Re: Pre load and damping
It's a gsxf1250fa, I'm 13 and a half stone and a steady rider since I broke several bones. Keep feeling the front go on roundabouts too. (checked pressures and they're Ok)

Take it to a suspension specialist and let them set it up for you. There are plenty about. Nowt worse than fookin about with it yourself if you are not confident in what you are doing.

Re: Pre load and damping
There can be a lot of reasons for that.
Tyre make and compound.
Tyre temperature (particularly if your a steady rider)
Riding habits.
Posture
Suspension.
How long have you been riding and have you done any advance work on your riding?

No advanced stuff. No track days etc. Riding 10 years now. My tyres don't have good reviews so moving to pilot 4s when I've worn my way through this set.

Re: Pre load and damping
To be honest I've alays been happy doing my own but I'm sure someone will post a price soon as a few have had it done. Don't think it's a fortune though.Dave_W wrote:How much do these specialists charge?Barts dad wrote:Take it to a suspension specialist and let them set it up for you. There are plenty about.
