Bandit Refurb
Re: Bandit Refurb
Picked up some replacement oil cooler lines, which were cheap but in a bit of a state,
so ground them back to white metal and primed.
then treated to a nice coat of gloss black enamel. Look like new now.
Next up I removed the bars, clocks, headlamp, ignition and top clamp along with the complete wiring loom.
The rear bodywork and undertray, back light and indicators.
Next, out with the shocker and swing arm.
The frame is now ready for the powder coaters, just need to drop the forks and pull the headstock bearing race's out. I've decided to kill 3 birds here and i'm gonna prep the wheels and swing arm for powdercoating too, seems a waste not to get the lot done in one hit whilst it's in bits, plus it would look shite putting these bits back into a nice shiny frame.
Lastly today i put the cylinder head back together, and refitted to the block.
Then fitted the cams and cam chain, plus tensioner, the timing is all set and tomorrow i'll crack on with the valve adjustment.

Re: Bandit Refurb
i'd speak to cheshire powdercoaters on the rossmore or city powdercoaters in birmingham, not sure about frames but they charge £20 per wheel!!!
Re: Bandit Refurb

Re: Bandit Refurb
Looks great remember to drill out the Vin plate rivets as the powder coaters will oft remove these and then they get lost.
Also fill with rubber plugs any holes with threads, again most powder coaters/blasters know to do this and will at no extra cost but it's worth asking first.
Hi tech coatings in Rainford are great and a lot of the lads are bikers and take great care with your parts, plus they are cheap and blast on site.
