What is my VIN?

Post by rumpoldstilskin » 13 Jan 2018, 16:04

Can anyone check my registration plate at work (mechanics etc) to find my VIN No.?

Had the frame shot blasted and the VIN has gone along with the paint, but i didn’t have the V5 so i’m kinda screwed now :/

Plate is; EU03EAK (husaberg 470, 2003)

Didn’t have one, been off the road since 2007, head gasket blown, just left in a garage.

To an outsider that sounds dodgy as fuck.
“Tell me what VIN i need to stamp on my new bike” i dont have a v5.
🤣
So do you have to apply to dvla for a new log book?

wouldn't think that shot blasting would remove a VIN ! either way you are stuck with that mate, will be hard to sell on ...even if you find out what it is from the DVLA stamping it back on the frame will be tricky and as lee says will look very suspicious

No i get that, V62 applied for, HPi clear but i didn’t pay the extra for the VIN to show (it stated VIN check but it was just that, a check, not a confirmation) balls to paying another £25.
I was going to just SVA it and get it Q plated, was offered another frame with a valid V5 by the main importers, Dave Clarke Motorcycles, for £300 as they burnt all the original import documents just the day before i called and asked.... typical bad luck for me.
I asked why and Dave said no one has asked for VIN details, original invoices etc in nearly 10 years ffs.

So its a V62 job or a V888 in the hope that the original owner in 2007 still has their V5

Also the VIN was etched on these rather than stamped- came straight off with the soda media being quite corse :( New one will be stamped in but need the VIN first and an MOT then a certificate from the DVLA, fml.
