Getting in the forum loop.

Post by Cabernet » 02 Jan 2018, 19:28

Since the Christmas upgrade I have been trawling around the boards functionality.
I have found one area that I hope will assist in creating a forum buzz. However, these are controlled at an individuals' level and the default seems to mute e-mail notifications of forum activity.
I urge all newcomers and those that long for the buzzing club feel of yesteryear to initially turn all E-mail notifications on. It is part of our profile and we can turn parts off later as we prefer.
To do this, go to your profile in the top right hand of screen and select "User Controls". Then select the "Board Preferences" tab. Then select the "Edit Notifications Options".
Now scroll down and tick every empty box that mentions E-mail. Press "Submit" and you will get instance notifications when your posts are replied or quoted, you are mention or even if your post is reacted to, "Liked or loathed".
We can also sign up for notications on a particular board that interests us. "Meets and rides" are mine.

Must admit i prefer the default setting.
Last thing i want is more emails.
I quite like just popping on and checking out the new posts tab.

Wow! Didn't seem that coming. Can't say I am not flattered. I'll give it some thought.
