Electric Superbike

I don't know if you've heard of the LS218... An electric superbike capable of 218mph. Fairing isn't the prettiest but don't let that put you off, it's a beast!

Here's a review by Gizmag (since rebranded to New Atlas) from two years ago

Well basically they're making a faster one... totally worth a read right to the bottom, especially the bit about Loris Cappirossi, lol

Lightning LS-2??R: The world's fastest production motorcycle gets a whole lot faster http://newatlas.com/lightning-ls218r-el ... eed/50766/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And 'oh but I like my pistons and the noise' is only valid if you've been in / on a decent electric vehicle :-). I thought I was a petrol head, but turns out I'm happy with a motor or an engine! As I've posted before, I fully recommend this... http://www.e-scape.org.uk/home" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would really like to see a petrelectric hybrid. I reckon an economic 100cc engine should be able to sustain a 60KW motor in most circumstance. Should be ample.

Hybrids only make sense until battery tech is slightly further on. The range isn't quite there for bikes yet at a reasonable price, but I don't want an ICE engine adding weight, needing servicing, and crucially keeping a reliance on fossil fuels... But I am more of a hippy than I used to be

That Kers system i'm planning for the old CA95 should boast 80/90% efficiency, struggling with battery sources still though, lithium is so expensive.

Need to invest my pension in lithium stock me thinks.

When they become affordable, have a range over 200 miles and can be charged in 2 mins im in.
Same goes with cars.
They will get there eventually im sure.

Battery change out has to be an option. Or a revolution in vehicle ownership mentality.

Be an interesting problem to tackle.

What i wonder is what impact all these super green vehicles will have on the environment once the batteries are fucked.

When they drop below a useable capacity for cars they can be directly reused for home or grid based energy storage for solar and wind energy, or I believe the majority of the materials which make it up can be recycled into new batteries
