Any decent roads half close to Manchester city centre?

Post by alytt » 12 Apr 2017, 12:14

I live in the NQ in Manchester and most the time when I get it out involves going down the M67 and over to the peaks. Only problem is it if I've only got an hour or so, that route is out of the question.

Anyone know of any decent rides which aren't too far from the city centre? I know there's none ride in the middle of town obviously.

Thanks in advance.

Ashton New Road.
Left on to North Rd.
Left on to Edge Lane.
Right on to Millstream Lane, Green Land, Medlock Rd and Ashton Road. :!: Watch for horses.
Right on to Stannybrook Road.
Right on to Lumb Lane, Moorside and Market Street.
Right onto Ashton New Road back into Manchester.

The A56 Chester Rd through Trafford is quite pleasant on the morning commute
