MacBook and Google Drive help.
MacBook and Google Drive help.
Google Drive on a MacBook - can anyone help me disconnect a drive I no longer have a password for? I set up my ex's Google Drive on my MacBook so I could copy across all her photos, but now she's changed her password and I want to reinstate my Google Drive back on my MacBook.
Before you say delete it, I've tried deleting the app but it won't let me do anything unless you enter the password in order to access preferences.
Quite desperate for answers

Re: MacBook and Google Drive help.
We often assign genders or personas to our bikes as they become travel companions, but this the first time I have seen it done with a computer or related. Anyway, hope someone can help as HRMC require self employed to keep their ex's for seven years. Then you can incinerate them, but I'm sure you know this hence the post.

Delete it from your start ups then try removing it

Re: MacBook and Google Drive help.
Here's what Google say if this helps better Click the Google Drive icon , usually found in the menu bar in the top right of your desktop screen.
Click the overflow icon in the top right .
Select Preferences.
When the Google Drive Preferences window opens, choose Disconnect account.
After you've confirmed disconnecting your account, open the Applications folder and move the Google Drive icon to your trash.

Yep, it was seven years. Can I go burn her now?Cabernet wrote:We often assign genders or personas to our bikes as they become travel companions, but this the first time I have seen it done with a computer or related. Edit: It was seven years of roller coaster riding mayhem! Just in case you were curious

The problem is that you can't select preferences because it's still linked to the other persons account.SMUDGER wrote:Here's what Google say if this helps better Click the Google Drive icon , usually found in the menu bar in the top right of your desktop screen.

I've finally managed to get round it using the following method, but my gosh I had to do quite a bit of digging on the Internet because everyone was suggesting "just click preferences".
This is the method, should you wish to have a fiddle and a twiddle:
Disconnect Google Drive instructions
1. Quit Google Drive if its running
2. Delete this folder:
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Drive
On Windows: %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Drive\
3. Start Google Drive
That should get you to go back into setup.
How do I navigate to the Application Support folder.

Since Mac OS 10.7 the Library folder is not displayed in the Finder anymore. To navigate to the Application Support folder please follow these steps:
1. Open the Finder
2. Go to the Menu Bar and open the "Go" menu.
3. Select the entry: "Go to Folder..."
4. Enter the path of the Application Support folder:
~/Library/Application Support
Tip: You can display the Library folder if you press the ALT-Key while in the "Go" menu.
