Space X launch & landing

Just in case anyone is interested, Space X are attempting another stage 1 landing later today, on a boat.

They've never managed it before.

I think launch is 18:42 - here http://space.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was never into space travel in the past, but this really gets my interest, duck knows how they manage it, it's like thunderbird 3

Here's the successful land based attempt recently

Here's last time they tried it on the boat..

The one this week was incredible...

The landing (the actual hard part) was pretty much successful, just one of the legs hadn't locked properly so it fell over AFTER landing. I bet they were gutted, but they could have got a lot of data and confirmed previous problems were fixed

Of course landing is just for them - the launch was successful and the satellite is in orbit - the landing is to reduce costs over time, as all previous launches before space x just let that part drop like a stone, and it's worth a fortune

They'll get there - then humans will move to mars... That's his plan
