Need A Bit Of Tyre Advice

Post by gingerb » 04 Jun 2015, 18:39

I know this is probably a boring topic done to death but my baby needs a new set of boots. Have a Kawasaki ER6F with Dunlop Sport Smarts on and have got 5500 out of them. Could do with something that would hopefully last a couple of thousand more but pennies are tight. I do a fair amount of straight miles on A roads and motorways so something with a longer lasting middle band would be good - any suggestions? :? :? :?

sports smarts are good tyres , they are a supersport tyre so will have softer edges..if you feel confident on the dun lops try the more touring tyre the Roadsmart or roadsmart2 both will have a hard rubber than yours so should last longer …log onto the dunlop tyres website for info

if you change to another brand, Pirelli or micheling etc , your bike could feel different for a while till you get use to it. thats why i asked if your confident with dunlop stick to them

Michelin pilot roads if your budget minded or the 3 or 4s if youve some extra cash. Had around 10k from the rear and 18k from the front on a set of pilot roads. Found them awesome. Now on pr3's and they're great too.

For mileage on a budget you can't do much better than Pirelli Diablo Strada's.

Rear lasted nearly 4k on my Super Duke, including 2.5K hooning round France, on an ER6 you can at least double that.
Excellent tyre for all conditions, even did a track day on the front (that killed it ;) ).

For less than £150 for the pair you'll be quids in.

Id go to dunlop roadsmarts.
Ive got the sportsmarts on the sd and the roadsmarts on the honda.

The roadsmart is every bit as good and lasts longer.
