URGENT RECALL: Honda CBR1000RR SP

Post by lee711 » 13 May 2015, 20:37

Honda have issued an urgent recall to all owners of the CBR1000RR SP due to suspension failure.

Owners have been urged to cease riding their bike and return them to your dealership immediately.

Following the recent announcement by Ohlins, regarding bikes that may have been affected by suspension failure, making many models dangerous to ride.

American Honda have submitted their recall on the CBR1000RR SP with a total of 504 units affected between 9th December 2013 – 28th March 2014, and 20th October 2014 – 27 February 2015, with immediate effect.

It is unknown yet if Honda UK will be announcing a similar recall but we urge all riders to check their bikes carefully and if you believe there is an issue then to contact your local dealer immediately.

Honda will be notifying all those affected and urge all owners to bring their bikes in, where the shock assembly will be checked and sent over to Ohlins service centre to be repaired. The bikes will be fixed free of charge.

got one early last year for a BMW i was on ,,it took nearly 4 months to be sorted out ,,this was worldwide !! it must have cost millions ! every owner got a loan bike , compensation , other bike offers , money back etc …and the funny thing is every unit was replaced , but not one of them was faulty !!

As per Lee its best to get the letter rather than one fail on you
