Would you ?

I've just been out to the USA and the Caribbean where I saw lots of riders without helmets ...I'm in the opinion that the advantages of wearing one out weigh the disadvantages

What do you think ?

I don't know what advantages you would have NOT wearing a helmet? Keep the wind out your eyes, protect your face from flies/stones and other shit that hits it and of course there's the obvious it stops your head from looking like bolognese on the floor should you come off

I was riding in thailand last year, probably some of the best twisty roads i've ever encountered. Locals would be often 4/5 up on scooter all without lids. I always wore mine yet it fit like a fez and so utterly pointless but more protection than my freshly shaved hair gave.

I see it like this, years back on a night out in St.Helens I saw some lad step backwards and trip over his own feet, drunk clearly, all in slow motion he tipped over and cracked his head on the kerb, died instantly. Now lets say he's 5'10" and 12 stone, he fell with a maximum speed of 3mph and landed with a force of around 14111N or 1438KG of force..

I've had one serious accident that involved a highside and landed on my head.

End of discussion as far as I'm concerned.
