Anybody have a GPS speedometer?

Post by Lilday » 28 Apr 2015, 18:20

Anybody on here got a GPS speedometer?

I've got a satnav but I'm working on something where I need to know the speed is 100% correct.

I've seen them on top gear, where they stick to the vehicle and have a little antenna.

Cheers.

there are plenty of smartphone apps that do this and they are quite accurate, i remember when my clocks stopped working so i did it i even whent through speed traps and it was showing correct but i think the only time it wouldnt be accurate is if you plant the power on

i also think its also slightly slow - just like the satnav one by 1 - 2 mph

What you planning on doing Dave ? The sat NAv is really accurate enough give or take a mph or two !

Good luck Friday mate

Apps and Sat Navs not accurate enough, needs to be a dead certainty like the ones they use on top gear :)

Thanks anyway chaps and Cheers Dave - should be fun!

What phone do you have as it's the refresh rate on the GPS that's key. You can buy a good Bluetooth GPS receiver for peanuts then get an app. Thus way there deadly accurate
