What are peoples thoughts on the best way to run in a new bike?

This is just what I done and could be wrong , but it's not harmed my bike

No keeping in the same gear for long periods ( motorway cruising )

I tried not to labour the engine , always used correct gear

Not too much redline ,I did give it a handful every now and again but didn't let it Rev out

This was all for the first 1k miles after that just used as normal
Also remember it's not the the engine to think about, your bedding in brakes , tyres too

I mark the throttle at half open with tip-ex.
Then just don't go beyond that up to just before first service.
On the way to the service, I rev it out a bit more to flush the oil round.
After the first service, off you go normally, but change the oil again and filter after another 700 miles.

I remember you saying you had a girl son girl thing Jazz..bet she was the one who took your innocence

back to the topic , yep no labouring or hanging around at the same engine speeds, for me. Up and down the box and rev range ,a little at a time
