Re-learning

Post by Cabernet » 18 Apr 2018, 12:52

Got out on Sunday.
Been riding all winter on the commute, but not really riding if you know what I mean.
Went over the Accrington by-pass to go up the M65 toward Colne.
On the roundabout it wasn't all flowing  , until a little voice said," Look further round the bend".
Turned my head maybe an extra 10° and I felt my wrist drop, the throttle crack open, the lean increase and that satisfying "G" pushing me into the seat.

It's usually called paying more attention to the prevailing surroundings.

Hmmmm, went around the lovely bend back of our alongside Martin Mere on Wednesday, lovely swooping right hander with a good camber....... was in the Harley ffs and i had forgotten, rhs foot peg dug in to the ‘experimental road surface’ and out swung my back end.
A small shat in my pants and a lot less spirited riding to the Carousel.

I miss my sports bikes :,(

First ride of the season for me was on my old AJS for an MOT and a potter around. I really enjoyed it and stayed out longer than I had planned. 😁

When I took my SP-2 out the next week however, it was a different story. I really had to concentrate and think far ahead. I have definitely become rusty and will need a few more miles to get back the reactions etc. I also noticed some strange aches the next day 🙄

Or I could just be getting old ...... lol
It's all about the TT ....
