As the title suggests, I picked up a new (new to me) bike on Friday 07 April ImageImage
2003 Honda VFR800 Vtec ABS and linked brake with 22k on the clock, for £2,250.
It will be my commuter bike.

This is my first V4 and the melodic harmony is intoxicatingImageImage
Don't think it stays below 10,000 rpm much and have had it buried deep into the redline without realising Image

I loved my vfr800 people complain about the VTEC but I thought it was great that little extra kick as long as you know where it kicks in its good fun. And like you said it builds speed very easily and quickly. I'd love a nice v4 again sometime when I get the chance.

I've noticed a hesitation around 7k rpm when coming down the rev range from near redline - I'm assuming this is when it's coming off the vtec. The hesitation/bump at 7k rpm isn't too intrusive, although it's bloody difficult holding the revs at 7k on a steady throttle while it's engaging/disengaging the vtec...oh the fun I have with my vtec on my commute to work Image

Today was my first refuel:
Tesco near Manchester United football groaunds along A56 Chester road
114.9 pence/litre
£20.53 cost
17.87 litres
133 miles
Which equals a real world 33.84 mpg, which isn't bad considering I ride the bike near constant redline.

I will try ride more sedately next time (for all of 5 minute) like Caberet ( @Cabernet ) .
