New bike
Re: New bike
Does anyone know:
If the VFR800 is this good, how good will the VFR1200F be?
I'm keen to get a test ride on a VFR1200F to see what it'd be like.

Re: New bike
Be interested to see what you think of the 1200.
Im thinking of getting an 800 for my commuting to replace the old cbr.
The shaft drive on the 1200 could convince me to spend a bit more.

Is that a polite way of saying that he rides like a old fart ?pch1 wrote:Today was my first refuel:
Tesco near Manchester United football groaunds along A56 Chester road
114.9 pence/litre
£20.53 cost
17.87 litres
133 miles
Which equals a real world 33.84 mpg, which isn't bad considering I ride the bike near constant redline.
I will try ride more sedately next time (for all of 5 minute) like Caberet ( @Cabernet ) .
HEAD PERVERT

Shaft drive is great when it's working and is maintenance free like my old BMW R1100S...not so great when the bearings go like on my BMW R1100S.lee wrote:Be interested to see what you think of the 1200.

I'll see if I can get a test on the VFR1200F lined up and let you all know.

I don't know why I haven't tried a V4 before, but I'm hooked on the tune played by the exhaust at high revs.norifan wrote:Yer making me pine for my old vfr750 now, 99FV last of the carb models, cracking bike. Might have to be havin a look round.
Dare I say it's second only to the crackle of a two stroke?

I know what you mean, its quite addictive. My mate buys em cheap off eBay etc and does various mods fireblade forks & shit? And uses em for track days. He let me use one at donnington last year, it went pretty good. Not the fastest thing on track but good fun all the same.

I was looking into something like that, getting an older vfr800 and shedding a load of weight off it, turning it into a track weapon but not had the chance really yet.
