Assistance from Road Traffic Act nerd please.
We all know;
It is also permissible to overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right. Overtaking on the left in these circumstances although permissible is subject to road markings and signs that may suggest otherwise.
Can anyone guide me to the section and verse of the act?

Yeah, got that thank you.
The highway code is a code of conduct or rule of thumb. I am looking for the letter of the law in its' purist form.

Could have sworn I'd just posted on this but apparently not.
The Act itself will be no use Kev, it'll be a very general description of what constitutes careless/dangerous driving and says something like driving at the standard expected of a competent driver.
To get to the nitty gritty the only answer is caselaw, might I suggest endless hours wading through Bailli.org that's the best source of caselaw there is, even so it'll be sparse on traffic law. It might be worth a look at legal forums (fora?) and traffic specialist solicitors websites, there might be quotes from caselaw and possibly links to judgements.

Re: Assistance from Road Traffic Act nerd please.
Basically I was hoping it would state that it is permissible to pass a vehicle in front on the nearside that is turning right, rather than, to pass a vehicle in front on the left, that is turning right.

Lee, the latter does not change ones permissible path relative to the orientation of the vehicle in front. The former would.
Rumpy, at some point yes, but I foresee no compromise to my license at this time.
