What about your current RT, or was that a hire bike?C-J wrote:Cabernet wrote:What is the highest milage BMW you have owned and what is the most miles you have put on any one bike?C-J wrote:I
I've never had a shaft mechanical issue with any of them.
In fact of the approx 100,000 I've done on various beemers,
My 2nd K12s.. Took it from 10,000 miles to 38,000... That's when it had the injector fault. They lent me a GS while they fixed it, but I never went to pick it up. Did a trade in against the GS.
Would you like to measure my penis aswell...????

Nope I've had the RT for nearly a year. Barely done any miles... Only about 4000. Over half of that was in the week around Spain and Portugal.. Functionally it's impressive, but it's just not fun unfortunately.pch1 wrote:

So it's being traded in against a GSA LC.

Why not try something different. GTR1400, CRF1000L, FJR, 1290 Enduro? You have had a GSA and sold it for something different. Does this not speak volumes to you?C-J wrote:Nope I've had the RT for nearly a year. Barely done any miles... Only about 4000. Over half of that was in the week around Spain and Portugal.. Excuse my ignorance, but what's the LC stand for? Don't tell me it's Liquid Cooled, because then I'll kick myself!C-J wrote:Nope I've had the RT for nearly a year. Barely done any miles... Yes, but other bikes don't have it all like the GSA.Cabernet wrote:Why not try something different. GTR1400, CRF1000L, FJR, 1290 Enduro? You have had a GSA and sold it for something different. The GSA is comfortable, upright, can do green laning, and has maintenance free shaft.
I will be joining the ranks of GSA riders...once I've paid my TAX bill
Re: Shafties
Yeh really enjoyed my last GSA... But then fancied a change. The new liquid cooled (LC) is a few steps up in torque and power. So better engine, more gadgets...Cabernet wrote:Why not try something different. GTR1400, CRF1000L, FJR, 1290 Enduro? You have had a GSA and sold it for something different. As for trying other bikes... The others don't do it for me.
Of your suggestion the KTM is the only thing near my consideration, however nearest dealer is miles away...
I really wasn't intending to change, but after going into the showroom after the bike show, they showed me a couple of bikes that had just come in, owners couldn't afford the finance, fully specced, low miles. A deal was struck the next day after they valued mine. Happy days!
