I doubt Giovani will let it go to the dogs- he's a top guy. Glad mines on PCP though

They'll always have buyers with a name steeped in history/heritage.

I hope Merc AMG will bail them out, I don't see why they can't do this

I don'r get why they are in debt? Giovani has turned the company around after his dad re-launched it. Probably the most reliable italian bikes out there now And very good quality too.

I'd like to own an F4 next if they don't go under, benelli parts as well as being expensive have also proved very difficult to track down at times too.

Id take it with a pinch of salt…sure I have read that they are going under every other year now for the last 10 years !!!

Positive advertising i think it is , so people rush out and purchase an MV to state they have got one of the last made !

Italian companies go under quite regularly, it seems. All part of their normal business strategy! I remember when I had my old RS125 and it needed a new carb under warranty but the dealer was complaining that it took ages to get parts from Italy whenever Aprilia were going through yet another "going bust" process.

I also spoke to a very well-known and respected independent two-stroke Aprilia tuner to whom Aprilia regularly sent their own customers' bikes for fettling, race engine builds, etc., and he was seeing his arse because they would send bikes on account, rack up several grand of debt with him and then "go bust" but be up and trading again a few weeks later, sending him more bikes to work on but saying they'd written that previous account debt off as that incarnation of the business had gone bust and this was a new one. In the end he stopped working on Aprilia-referred bikes and refused to deal with Aprilia direct because he was sick of getting shafted by them pulling the same stunt over and over again.

My view is that AMG MB will pick them up for a fraction of the real value and add it to their own stable so they can compete with BMW and, to a lesser degree, Audi/Ducati.

Hard to imagine MV ever making any worthwhile money. Equally hard to imagine why merc got involved. My guess is to buy them for a nominal fee, asset strip what there is left then licence the name.
