Bike cleaning

Post by connorjardine » 11 Dec 2015, 00:13

So I want something that is going to keep the protect the bike from rust but also make it nice and shiny. My new exhaust will be here either Saturday or Monday so I can't wait to get the off as its the worst part on it.

Other than that what does everyone use to cleab the bike :)

ACF50 for jeeping it clean and rust free, once already clean though.
Payout for a bike valet, £30+ then just hose down with cold water after a dirty/wet ride and blow the bike dry if you have the facility too, partners hair dryer works wonders with a toilet roll tube taped to the end to reduce the nozzle and increase the pressure coming out- on cold mind- don't want no fires do we.

A garage helps keep it clean and free from corrosion.

A garage yeah if you don't ride the bike. It's going to get dirty riding I just pressure wash mine with muc off spray, every week and just jet wash the swing arm every couple days to prevent it getting bad..

Tip don't use washing up liquid it will speed up oxidation due to its salt content

Mine gets cleaned by the rain.. as I use the wee grom everyday now I got bored of covering it, I just spray with MucOff and let the rain do the rest..

Be wary of bike covers as opposed to bike tents - i find having a cover doesn't let the bike breath and water stays on it so it rusts much quicker.
