CBR600 Downpipes

Ello,

Does anyone have or know where I may be able to source some second hand OEM headers from a 2002 CBR600 F4i/FS, part number 18150-MBW-D22.

There's a few on ebay from the USA, but don't fancy paying £60 postage .

I've got a SS set on currently, but they're messing with the mid-range a considerable amount and has the bike running a touch rough.

Were they not stainless on this model anyway?
I got replacement stainless downpipes for my older cbr but made sure they came with balancer pipes. This helped keep the midrange the same.
They were motad ones.

Nope, I think the original were mild cheese or something  . It's a common issue for the collector box to rust through. I had been looking for a Motad set but seems they're not made anymore. I found a refurbished set of OEMs on ebay last night so got them ordered.

I just assumed as my first zx6r was a 98 model and had stainless.
But suzuki were still using mild steel so guess honda were dragging their heels too.
Anyway, i think your issue is more to do with the design than material, but the oem ones will work best (just risk of corrosion again).
Not as much of an issue if it doesnt see winter.

I have thought about that, but £500 vs £90 seemed a no brianer in the end. I'm hoping to upgrade eventually too so that was putting me off the PC.

Now then, the headers arrived and as I expected having a difficult time removing them . 5 studs loose, 1 stud snapped and 2 stuck cap heads that won't budge.

If he is still going, when it comes to exhaust studs "Rancid Tom" is the man.
