[quote="Cabernet"][quote="Goosecipher"][quote="pch1"]Hi Goose Sphincter and welcome to NWB.
The newer V-Strom 650 is a decent looking bike. I've been looking at them too as a commuter and continent tourer.

I take it with all this talk about the Transalp, that you've had one in the past? My only thing with the Transalp is that I've heard it's range is a bit crap, but if you know different, then perhaps it's a serious contender to take another look at

I have had the Deauville which uses the same engine. Very frugal engine with ample performance. Two of my friends have had Transalps. One was a bit of a beef cake and used to carry his phyically matching Mrs. If I were in the 2005 - 2015 mainstream adventure market, the Transalp.

i have had both the versys and the tiger.the versys is a decent bike but being a twin it vibrates alot.the tiger is bye far the better bike. both are tall. like most adventure bikes they look off road capable, but in most cases they aren't .

Mine was June, and haven't rode one since as I said that I wouldn't rush into buying the first one that came along. Then of course, everything conspired against me when one did come along so had to put off buying one until now. But hopefully have that remedied in the next couple of weeks.

Well, I finally took the plunge and went for a Triumph. OK, she may not be the newest bike on the block, or perhaps not the most sensible option, but I'm biased because she's now mine and I like her.
