Fastest bike is a perception thing.
When they an electric bike might beat the.likes of a CBR500R at the Suzuka 8 hr and from Metz to Manchester via the Chunnel give me a shout.

See what your saying.
I reckon the endurance thing could be very easy.
Just have a few batteries on charge.
Seconds to change one.

Having ridden the electric off road bikes I think they are great.

That's why I added Metz to Manc' as the logistics of a second battery is not so easy.

Yeah.
And that's where the issue lies.
Not in battery technology but in a lack of places to charge or change batteries while out.
As a commuter they would be good. But then its a lot of cash to simply ride to word. A ktm e freeride is about £11k. Then you need another charger which is another grand or so I believe.

Hybrid is the answer. 50cc generate charging the batteries should be able to match a 500cc bikes performance through an electric motor if fitted with KERS too.
