RECALL: Yamaha MT-09, R6 and Super Tenere
10 April 2015 by Birdy

Yamaha are set to recall some MT-09’s, Super Teneres and YZF-6s due to transmission issues which could leave riders are unable to select gears.

The UK’s Vehicle and Operator Services Agency stated that the ‘transmission may fail’ as a result of a fatigue crack to an internal component.

It read: “The gear shift cam segment stopper may develop a fatigue crack. If not identified, this could result in the inability of the rider to select gears.”

The recall was launched on Tuesday and all affected machines will have the gear shift shaft replaced with a new remedial component.

Currently unaware on how many bikes in total have been affected but it’s believed that the batch will be small.

The bikes affected have been listed by the bikes VIN numbers as follows:

RN296######0009355 to RN296######0010782
RN29F#####0001080 to RN29F######0002551
RN291######0004601 to RN291######0005001
DP041######0001239 to DP041######0001293
DP046######0001835 to DP046######0001873
RJ155######0008385 to RJ155######0008482
