Re: My ride
Got some bits to finish on Saturday.
Was hoping to be out on it Sunday.
Forecast is currently shite though.
Itching to get out on it....

Me too. Last year never really happened for me much.

Re: My ride
Got all the bits done. Got carried away and did some extra bits i hadn't planned on. Took all day.
New front brake pads.
Stripped and cleaned calipers. Had to remove pistons to clean properly, they were dreadful.
New brake fluid.
New front wheel bearings.
Balanced rear wheel.
Fitted replacement rear caliper and renewed brake fluid.
Stripped sprocket off carrier and cleaned both. Cleaned chain.
Cleaned rear shock linkage.
Removed side stand and cleaned and greased. Was stiff and wouldn't spring up.
All in all, a satisfactory day and therapeutic.
Bike is spot on now and ready for the summer.
Front brake pads were goosed.
Only done less than 300 miles on the bike and it passed an mot a month ago. Supplying dealer and mot station didn't pick up on the worn pads.
The picture is of the first set i pulled. The second set were worse but i forgot to get a pic.
Just need to get out on it now.

Re: My ride
Well done. Very tidy bike.
Re: My ride
Thanks.
Bought some forks for it today.
Big piston ones from a 2016 bike that went racing from new. So unused forks.
Couldnt resist.
Hopefully a nice upgrade for not a lot of money.

Re: My ride
Looks very nice. I always think it gives you more confidence and riding pleasure when you have given the bike a good sort-out yourself.
