Hi all... Im back :)

Bought Moz's 929rr and have started the tear down and planning the work.

As bought:

I've given her a wash and started to tear down some of the parts that need attention, one of which is the Yoshimura Rearsets....

They are bent (likely due to dropping and generally pretty ratted), ideally i'd like to straighten these out and then anodise them in black . They are actually very expensive and a cheaper set really isn't worth my time. Any ideas?

Also whilst removing these i managed to snap one of the bolts that hangs the bracket to the frame and also the master cylinder, again any ideas? :)

The plans then will be either new fairings or a repair/repaint job followed by either a 954 or rr8 tail.

So as it stands:

You can buy just the pegs for the rearsets

Fair play on taking this off mozz's hands. He has a lot on his mind at the minute. Hopefully he can find a cure before people find out his dirty secret......

Best thing to do with those snapped studs is remove them.
And then straighten the rearsets and get them anodised or just powdercoat

Start soaking those bolts in plusgas now, proper clean up with a wire brush all around the thread and then spray the plusgas on daily for a few days. Then there are a number of methods to get them out. For the hanger one, would be worth getting a hacksaw blade and cut a groove into the head of the bolt and then get a flatblade screwdriver in there to unscrew. For the one on the forks, you could try the same method, or get a nut welded on the end of it to remove.

Yea ill give you a shout although i think powdercoat might be too think?

Regards the parts, a good 4/5 parts are slightly bent (not the pegs) so i was thinking along the lines of a pressure vice to straighten them?

Forgot, I'm also looking to sort front and rear suspension, likely pick up a 954 rear shock and have it serviced and have the front forks serviced checked over :)
