R6 throttle tube mod beat me

Post by Trev » 04 Feb 2018, 15:11

Tried fitting this mod today.
Not enough slack in the cables to do it.
Starting taking bike apart and got as far as top off the airbox and realised it is just too much work.
Luckily i was also fitting a gear indicator so needed to be most of the way to where i was anyway.
Ridiculous amount of effort required to get to the other end of the cables.

It beat me.

Ha ha,
This reminds me of yourself, Danny and I at the Manor Cafe.
You ordered first and sat down with your brew.
Then Danny and I sat down with our brews.
Your eyes were green when you saw the size of our mugs.

Think you're looking at the next generation. My one was obsoleted when Moto3 started. My dash was common place on Moto125.

I have no doubt you're right.
Lovely, but expensive.

Hopefully having a second go at this over the weekend.
I've just bought a quickshifter for it and will need access to the coils for that. So while I'm that far in, I'll be going for the throttle cables as well.
Makes more sense while I'm doing both.

Had to postpone my 2nd attempt as quickshifter didnt arrive in time.
Got front tyre changed so not a total loss.
The jobs are building up now.
Quickshifter. Throttle tube. New headers. Decat.
Decat pipe should arrive this week.
Might as well have a full day at it and do the lot.
Bike is out of mot now as well.
