My aesthetic rule of thumb is that if you have a normal strap hanger then make the can equal lengths either side of the strap. Take the packing you cut off and jam it back in the shortened can to make the resultant can more densely packed

Re: Stubby exhaust
That was my idea tbh Jim as my micron is fecking huge but I want to keep the badge in place so it might look uneven
Re: Stubby exhaust
Cut it down from the front end rather than the back then (assuming the front end is riveted just like the back?).

Re: Stubby exhaust
i cut about 6" off mine to bring it in more, may of been a lot more actually but it used to stick out past the rear tyre

Re: Stubby exhaust
Id cut from the front like jim said.
Leave the micron badge to the left of the strap which will determine the length.

Re: Stubby exhaust
Careful doing this with the micron, they have an internal rubber seal that is easy to damage and makes it very hard to put back together, if I was you i'd look on evilbay for a stubby can and sell yours....
The Micron is a good can and unmolested will sell easy
