Ignition wont cut out

Post by benjim218 » 30 Sep 2017, 16:56

Hi guys!

Bit of a technical question if anyone could help.
I've bought a new bike which has brought me back into the world of cruisers!

The bike is a bit of a project and the ignition once the key has turn fires up no problems but when i turn the key the bike wont turn off and so just wondered if anyone has any ideas!

Thanks alot,
Ben

knackered ‘off position’ in the ignition barrel points or air leak on the carb intake can cause it to keep running thus drawing fuel.

Easiest way to check, remove ignition, connect up a multi- meter and check continuity between the different points/V across the OFF position. If thats fine could be a broken wire in the OFF circuit.

What bike? What year? Where are you?

Hey, Thanks for reading and for your reply!

Could it be as simple as a loose connection in the wire?

I'll see if i can grab one of the meters and have a look to check, overall it's a great bike there's just the odd bit here and there.

It's a custom Bobber built from a Jinlun 125-11 on an 06 plate, I'm based over in sunny old Bolton!
