Lost keys

Post by NEL » 06 Nov 2015, 18:45

As the title suggests, I have lost the keys to my 99 Blackbird with HISS. I have heard of people being able to get round this problem without needing to replace the lockset and ECU at a hefty price. Does anyone have any ideas or failing that know of anyone who is selling a complete injection Blackbird damaged or spares repair.

The keys MUST be in the house somewhere!

Have you checked the fridge??

I have ripped the house apart. I think they may have been in my car when some little scrote took my laptop and various other things.
I had thought of the alarm way but I still have no way of getting the steering lock off or the fuel filler cap or the seat.

An auto locksmith can get the barrels out without damaging them

hi NEL, hope your well,,,,,,,,dont know if this applies and it could be the last resort…if you have lost keys on your insurance you can claim for ….erm a lost key …..this should end with your bike taken to a dealer and a new key with electronics fitted.

if you lost the key at home ,try your home insurance to see if that covers it ……the HISS system with no key unfortunately could mean an expensive pay out

One option : You should hopefully be able to get a new lock set via Ebay (fuel cap / seat etc) - if you can't get an ecu with it the original can be reset along with new keys matched via the dodgy outfits also found on Ebay who offer this service ...
