Chain replacement.
Ok. The time has come to replace my chain. (Titter titter). So I'm borrowing a link remover and have bought the chain. I plan to do it on Sunday weather permitting. Any help full hints, tips or pearls if wisdom that you could shower me with. All welcome. Thank you.

Re: Chain replacement.
Check if its got a normal split link first.
May not need the chain tool.

Re: Chain replacement.
Smudger tip of the day once you break the chain attach new chain to old chain with the link and pull through this will allow it to go over the gear cog without taking the cover off

Re: Chain replacement.
If your chain is ready for replacing don't forget your sprockets are probably fooked as well.
Better to change them all at same time.

Definetly this , or that new expensive chain will be ready for the bin sooner than you expected .finchey63 wrote:If your chain is ready for replacing don't forget your sprockets are probably fooked as well.

+1 on all that and sprockets - on medium to bigger bikes I don't recommend the spring clip although to be fair on a Lexmoto 125 it would most probably be fine ...

Just make sure the fishy swims in the direction the chain travels.
If you don't get this ffs ask.

Re: Chain replacement.
I never attach one chain to the other as I like to remove the front sprocket cover and clean / inspect it before fitting a new chain.
As per the other comments, id look to change the sprockets at the same time as the chain.
The oem items will probably be made from cheese and will be past their best.
